Before I introduce this week’s “Poll of the Week”, I have great news to share with everyone.
Little Scarlet’s recipe for Oatmeal Raisin Cookies has been selected for today’s Top 9 on Foodbuzz! This is a pretty big deal for Little Scarlet, as the Top 9 is selected every day from “the best of 2,367 posts from the Foodbuzz Community, as chosen by [Foodbuzz] editors and users.” Head over to Foodbuzz and check it out!
Between this exciting news and being able to successfully exchange my incinerated pie pan, I’ve been dreaming about all the great things I could make - if I had a kitchen equipped with neat gadgets! This week’s “Poll of the Week” asks if you could add one fun (& useful!) kitchen gadget to your arsenal, which would it be?
Personally, I feel torn between all of them, so please let me know why you picked the one you did!

Of the items on the list, we have an immersion blender and could not live without it. Cynthia would probably love a slow cooker, but we're too paranoid to leave anything plugged in and tuned on when we leave the house, whch kind of the point! Rice cooker would take up too much counter space, and an ice cream maker would just be too much temptation (besides, you can't use an ice cream maker to satisfy a midnight craving!).
ReplyDeleteI already have most of those (except the pasta maker and icecream maker). I would like to have one of those Korean super-duper ricecookers, though. The ones they sell here in the states are medeval in comparison.
ReplyDeleteDear Little Scarlet,
ReplyDeleteI must say you have the most enjoyable and insightful food blog on the web. Keep up the great work.
I feel a bit spoiled as I have a rice cooker, a slow cooker & an immersion blender. The slow cooker was really cheap though. So if I end up using it as much as I think I will this fall and winter, I may put a better model on my wish list...
ReplyDeleteIn the poll, I voted for the ice cream maker however. I have been reading sooooo many amazing ice cream recipes lately...
Interesting. Keep it up ! Thank you very much for sharing. Cheers !
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted a pasta maker, or the attachment that would fit on my Kitchen Aide Stand Mixer! I just love the taste of fresh pasta-
ReplyDeleteIt's a toss up for me between an ice cream maker (because I love ice cream) and an immersion blender (so I don't have to deal with ladling hot soups and sauces from a pot to a blender to smooth them out). I went with the immersion blender because I don't need to eat any more ice cream than I already do!
ReplyDeleteLove your surveys!
How did you know that we were just standing in front of an ice cream maker?
ReplyDelete:P
Congrats on your today's top 9. I pick my rice cooker:)
ReplyDeleteOf all the things you listed, I love my pasta maker the most. Nothing like fresh pasta -- and it doesn't take nearly as long as you suspect to make!!
